Alcántara´s Bridge, whitout a doubt, is one of the most emblematic monuments of Toledo.
It was an architectural complex that protected the access from its eastern side.
The main element of the structure is the bridge. During the Roman Era, the bridge connected the routes comming from Emerita Augusta (Mérida), Caesar Augusta (Zaragoza) and another route that went towards the south of the Peninsula.
El Puente de Alcántara, sin duda, es uno de los monumentos más emblemáticos de Toledo.
Era un complejo arquitectónico que protegía el acceso a la ciudad desde su lado oriental.
El elemento principal de la estructura, es el puente. Durante la época romana conectaba la vías procedentes de Emérita Augusta (Mérida) y Caesar Augusta (Zaragoza), más otra vía que se dirigía hacía el sur de la Península.
